Introduction
Our Disability Inclusion Training is a general disability awareness session that is suitable for most club staff, to help them support disabled fans. The training provides an introduction to disability; looks at the meaning and importance of inclusion; highlights key considerations around disability etiquette; provides information about accessible services and facilities; and allows opportunity for those attending to ask questions and discuss situations relevant to their role.
Who’s it for?
The training is designed to be as relevant as possible to a broad range of club roles, as it looks quite generally at disability and some of the access requirements that fans may have. The session can be tailored, to a degree, to make it more relevant to those in attendance (e.g. specific considerations for the ticketing team).
What does it cover
- Introduction to disability, including barriers to access
- Understanding inclusion and equality
- Disability etiquette, including terminology
- Matchday and stadium considerations
- Overview of accessible services and facilities
- Q & A opportunity
How is the training delivered?
The training is designed to be very interactive, including activities and discussions, so is typically best delivered in-person at your venue. Alternatively, there is the option for an online session using Teams if that is preferable. The cost is the same either way, although there are no travel expenses for an online session.
Sessions are typically between 2 and 3 hours long, although there is some flexibility on this depending on your requirements.
Cost
The cost for a Disability Inclusion Training session for up to 20 people is £650, plus VAT and reasonable travel expenses (for an in-person session).
If you would like more than 20 people to attend the training, we would typically suggest booking multiple sessions. If this isn’t possible then let us know.
