Watford have become the latest football club to install a Changing Places toilet facility.
Changing Places toilets are different to standard accessible toilets as they have extra features including a hoist and a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and more space to meet the requirements of people who use them. It also offers a height adjustable and remote controlled sink and a fully accessible shower.
Situated in the south-west corner of Vicarage Road, in close proximity to wheelchair user spaces and easy access seats, the facility will enhance the matchday experience for disabled fans. In many cases it will enable fans who are otherwise unable to attend games to now watch football at Vicarage Road.
Dave Messenger, the club’s Supporter Liaison and Disability Access Officer said: “We’re pleased to open this latest facility and further improve our provision for all disabled supporters”“With the Sensory Room and additional wheelchair spaces for both home and away supporters already opening during the course of this season, the Changing Places facility is another significant step towards meeting the Accessible Stadia Guidelines”“We hope the facility will be well received and look forward to hearing from supporters that might not be able to attend games without this provision being in place”
