See Sport Differently Focus Group

RNIB and British Blind Sport are working together to change perceptions that sight loss is a barrier to sport or physical activity.

Have you attended a sporting event recently? Would you like to share these experiences as part of the See Sport Differently programme?

RNIB and British Blind Sport are working together to change perceptions that sight loss is a barrier to sport or physical activity, across the sports sector and amongst people with sight loss themselves, to allow more blind and partially sighted people to get involved.

Part of the ‘See Sport Differently’ programme is focused on improving the fans experience at large sporting events for those living with sight loss. If you are blind or partially sighted and have attended a sporting event such as football, rugby or cricket at a stadium in the last two years we want to hear from you.

We will be holding 3 focus groups in September where those selected will have the opportunity to tell us about their experiences of watching sport in a stadium. The aim of the focus groups is to inform Best Practice Guidance that we will create for clubs whose teams play in stadiums or large grounds.

RNIB and British Blind Sport will share this guidance across the sports sector in 2023 with the aim of ensuring those living with sight loss have the best spectator experience possible. It is essential that what is produced is led by blind and partially sighted people. Therefore, if you would like to register your interest in taking part in these focus groups click the link below.

We are particularly keen to hear from female sports fans who have recently attend a sporting event held in an elite stadium.
