Our thoughts and condolences go out to Rex’s family during this difficult time; we offer them all the support we can.
Rex had been a trustee with Level Playing Field for many years, offering wise counsel and guidance whilst the charity went through some significant changes that paved the way to our success in recent times.
One of his notable achievements as a trustee at Level Playing Field was with our inaugural National Conference in 2019 hosted as Stadium MK. Rex was fundamental in ensuring we had a brilliant, accessible facility to deliver the national conference, a platform to share good practices and supporters matchday experiences in order to bring about change and make watching live sport accessible for all.
As MK Dons Disability Officer, he was integral in raising funds and supporting the installation of a changing places facility at the stadium. This is something he was very proud of and was eager to share with other clubs, helping to stimulate the development of these essential facilities at stadia around the country.
Level Playing Field’s Chair, Tony Taylor, said: “Rex was a brilliant trustee for Level Playing Field. We could always depend on his honesty, wise counsel, and determination when it came to crucial matters in driving Level Playing Field to where it is now.
“His passion and drive to make stadia more accessible was inspirational, along with his ability to engage with club staff and fans so seamlessly.
“Obviously, we are all shocked by his passing and offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
“As we look ahead, the time, energy and commitment that Rex put into access and inclusion for disabled fans will not be forgotten and will fuel us to achieve greater heights.”
Rest in peace Rex, from the whole of the Level Playing Field team and community.
