Level Playing Field have appointed a new Fans Liaison Officer

Level Playing Field (LPF) is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Bird as our new Fans Liaison Officer.

Liam has gained experience working within the disability sport sector, working with Comic Relief on their Sport Relief Campaigns. Liam has experience of working in sport broadcasting having worked with BBC 5 Live as well as Absolute Radio’s Rock n’ Roll Football Show.

 

As a part of the role, Liam will lead on a number of key areas with his primary focus of working closely with Disabled Supporters Associations (DSAs) and stakeholders in England and Wales and working to bring change and equality to disabled fans.

 

This is an integral part of Level Playing Field’s work ensuring that DSAs voices are heard and respected within their sporting community that leads to sporting clubs/organisations provide a greater service for the disabled fan.

 

Owain Davies, Chief Executive said: “We are very excited to welcome Liam to the team. He brings a lot of experience and has a clear passion for representing and supporting disabled fans.

 

His main area of work will be to closely work with Disabled Supporters Associations and Fans to gauge their experience and how this can be improved whilst also championing clubs when it’s (access and inclusion) done well.

 

As an organisation, we represent disabled sports fans, and it is imperative that we listen and engage on a regular basis to drive a greater matchday experience.”
