Level Playing Field has confirmed a restructure of its staff, following substantial growth in recent years.
This has better equipped the charity to provide improved assistance to individual disabled fans, clubs, disabled supporters’ associations and other stakeholders. It also ensures Level Playing Field is prepared for current growth to continue.
These changes have seen the promotion of Liam Bird to Head of Fan Engagement & Supporter Services and Daniel Townley to Head of Club Relations and Development.
Bird has taken overall responsibility for leading the charity’s work with fan groups, network development and approach towards supporting individual disabled fans.
Townley meanwhile, continues to lead on accessibility training delivery, while expanding on the organisation’s bespoke approach to supporting clubs and strategic plans to improve staff awareness and knowledge across sports.
Chief Executive of Level Playing Field, Owain Davies, said: “This has been an important step for Level Playing Field, as we continue to strengthen our capacity to meet growing demands from supporters and clubs.
“I am delighted that Liam and Daniel will play such huge roles in our continued progression, as they have each done so since joining the organisation.
“The growth we have seen only comes through the effectiveness of our work and the reputation we have earned. Those two have been key to so much of that in recent years.
“They are now building on their achievements, to help drive us forward towards our ultimate goal of creating an accessible and inclusive experience at live sport, for all disabled fans.
“This is only possible thanks to the contributions of the wider team, with the successful expansion in recent years making us confident of taking this next step.
“It is a reflection of how pleased the charity’s trustees and leadership are with the team’s collaboration and overall progress.”
