Government minister visits Arsenal FC to highlight Changing Places facility

Local Government Minister Minister Rishi Sunak MP visited Arsenal FC’s stadium. He met the Thomas and his mum Barbara, for whom Changing Places are vital for Thomas’s experience at the stadium, to highlight the importance of Changing Places.

We’ve produced a social media video from this visit to raise the issue further and highlight our push to get more CP toilets installed across the country.

The visit was in light of our intention to consult soon on making it mandatory to install Changing Places toilets in new, large buildings commonly used by the public. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ministers-act-to-increase-changing-places-toilets-for-severely-disabled-people

Level Playing Field commented: “Everyone deserves the right to appropriate toilet facilities and Level Playing Field Access Audits always recommend a Changing Places toilet is provided at all sports venues. The alternative for many disabled people where they are not available is that they are changed on a toilet floor or they decide not to go to the match at all – in 2019 this is unacceptable”.
