As you may or may not know, the UK Government announced back in April that it would be launching a ‘Fan-led review.’
The review will be wide-ranging in nature and will examine the potential for changes to ownership models, governance, how finance flows through the game and how to give supporters a more significant say in the running of the game.
The review will seek to make recommendations on how the game’s governance can be improved, putting fans’ interest and experiences first.
Leading this review is Tracey Crouch MP (who featured in episode 4 of The Level Playing Field Podcast).
Level Playing Field has been advocating behind the scenes to ensure that disabled football fans voices are heard.
This is why we would like to invite supporters who wish to raise any views that would feed into the government’s football review to get in touch.
Level Playing Field will be submitting evidence on behalf of disabled fans. We want to ensure we are providing the real-life match day views of disabled fans to the government and panel members involved in the review.
If you have a view or opinion and wish for Level Playing Field to share these (knowingly or anonymously), please submit your thoughts and feelings in an email to the Level Playing Field fan liaison officer Liam Bird at liam@levelplayingfield.org.uk by the June 15 deadline.
This is your opportunity to set out what is not working in the current football governance structure and offer suggestions and solutions.
We would be looking to submit views and opinions on how the governance of football has an impact on disabled fans and their experience/relationship with clubs and football more broadly.

Reviewing these ahead of your submission will assist in making sure the points raised are relevant to the purpose of this review.
Level Playing Field is also advocating for a virtual forum with members of the ‘footballing review panel’ and will update on this process in due course.
Disabled sports fans must have a say in this possible once in a lifetime review of the sport we all love, so don’t let this opportunity go by without have your say.
