Dementia Action Week 21st – 27th May 2018
Many people are affected by dementia; in the UK alone someone develops dementia every 3 minutes and it is not just associated with age. The BBC aired a documentary ‘Dementia, Football and Me’ with Alan Shearer on BBC1 on 12th November 2017 which looked at the link between heading a football and dementia. There are a number of clubs across England and Wales that are supporting fans with Dementia to access their stadia; whether it’s providing staff training, increasing general awareness or improving signage. This support is fundamental to allow fans to access their stadia and watch their teams play.
