Wheelchair rugby Paralympian Andy Barrow becomes Charlton disability ambassador

GREENWICH Paralympian Andy Barrow has joined Charlton Athletic as an ambassador.

Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) hosted a disability awareness day during last weekend’s home match against Bolton (Mar 30).

Before the game, players from the Charlton Ability Counts Club were dotted around the stadium taking part in an organised bucket collection, where fans had the opportunity to donate to disability programmes.

Mr Barrow, who competed at London 2012 in wheelchair rugby, said: “I’m very happy to be joining the CACT team as the disability and mental health ambassador.

“Charlton has always prided itself on its work in the community and CACT is renowned for the diversity of its programmes

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of maintaining the high standards that we are setting across the board with our efforts.”
