Obituary: Lee Knight

The Level Playing Field team was deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Lee Knight.

Lee was the Chairman of the Tranmere Rovers Disabled Supporters Association (TRDSA) in England, and a lifelong supporter of the club.

To celebrate Lee and his achievements at TRDSA, the club will hold a minute’s applause prior to kick off when they face Burton Albion FC on Saturday (21st March).

A statement released by Tranmere Rovers FC said, “As a mark of respect and in tribute to the tireless work that Lee did on behalf of our many loyal disabled supporters, there will be a minute of applause before the kick-off at Saturday’s match against Burton Albion. The club would like to offer its sincere condolences to Lee’s family. He will be sorely missed”.

Andy Doyle of TRDSA posted on Facebook, “We have lost a true Tranmere legend. Gutted doesn’t cover it, we had plans for the future and I am here to say that work and vision will continue with renewed vigour”.

Joyce Cook OBE, Chair of Level Playing Field, added, ‘We are saddened by this news and offer our condolences to Lee’s family and friends and everyone at the club. Lee was a strong advocate of disabled fans rights and had achieved a great deal for disabled Tranmere Rovers fans.’

Rest in peace, Lee, and thank you for your commitment to creating an inclusive matchday experience for disabled fans.
