Newport County launch Disabled Supporters Association

Ahead of our Weeks of Action 2015, Level Playing Field is pleased to be supporting the setup of a new Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) at Newport County. The DSA will be the ninth to be established during Level Playing Field’s Working Together project

LPF’s Working Together Project Coordinator, Kieran Reynolds met Newport County fan Colin Faulkner ahead of Newport’s game in Southend last week to discuss the formation of the new DSA. The DSA is due to be launched ahead of the new season.

Colin Faulkner said, “The DSA (in partnership with the NCAFC Supporters Trust) hopes to improve the matchday experience for all disabled supporters, home and away at Rodney Parade.  We hope to have a close working relationship with both the club and our landlords to help move this facility forward. Newport County AFC hopes to become a community club with a positive reputation amongst other Football League clubs.  Let’s make match days a better experience for disabled supporters.”

The Level Playing Field Weeks of Action will take place from 18th April until the 3rd May. It is an annual fortnight for clubs to showcase the positive work they do in partnership with their disabled supporters and to promote access and inclusion. You can join our Thunderclap here.
