There is now just a few days left to view the current exhibition ‘Re-framing disability: portraits from the Royal College of Physicians’ which ends on Friday 8 July.
The exhibition explores a group of rare portraits of disabled people from the 17th to the 19th centuries held within the RCP’s collections. The exhibition also includes the voices of 27 disabled participants from across the UK, who came together to discuss the historical portraits and their own identities and lives. Participants were invited to be filmed and to have their photographic portraits taken, which form part of the exhibition.
This exhibition will then tour to Shape in Kentish Town (Deane House Studios, 27 Greenwood Place, London, NW5 1LB) from 28 July – 29 September 2011. There is an open house viewing on Thursday 28 July 12pm-4pm (no appointment needed), otherwise its by appointment only Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm. Please email Ben at exhibitions@shapearts.org.uk or call him on 020 7424 7352 to make an appointment.
Visit the exhibition at the RCP until 8 July 2011
